Socorro de Jesus Aranda was born in Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua, where she completed her studies and received a Bachelor Degree in Biology.
She worked in Nicaragua for a few years in the field of Natural Resources and Ecology.
In 1982 she came to live in Italy. In 1993, decided to study Art and Painting, following the path of Neomanierism in Rome.
In the beginning her paintings where predominantly influenced by the 1500s, above all by colours and sometimes by shapes, but always in a modern style.
Years later she evolved toward a more personal style infusing a classic European influence and the roots of Central American culture. It is here that the feminine faces appear in the ethnic paintings; the inspiration of her works comes out through the eyes e facial expression of her subjects.
Currently in her most recent works, you catch a glimpse of her choice to use liner shapes and extreme simplicity, as a symbolic language. She attempts to convey expressions, thoughts, and emotions as a deeper search and desires to decode our internal soul and the messages from the external world in the search of existential order.
Has been living in Rome since 1982.
